NEW HOURS!

Library to be closed on FRIDAYS

It has been a tough year economically for us all and Library funding for 2009 was reduced almost 20% from 2008 levels. Projections for 2010 estimate an additional reduction of 6-8%. In order to offset this income shortfall we have already trimmed hours, electronic databases and materials budgets; frozen salaries; and left open staffing positions unfilled. Unfortunately, this is not enough to balance our income to expenses and we will be making additional cuts to materials budgets and effective January 4, we will be CLOSED ON FRIDAYS. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

The Library Trustees continue to look for additional ways to stretch our budgets or raise revenue including a levy on either the May or November 2010 ballot. Due to circumstances beyond our control, we will not be placing a levy on the May 2010 ballot, but will research possibilities for November’s election.
